Producing many of Croydon's finest boxers since 1928.
Operating since 1928, Croydon Amateur boxing club has lived in many locations including The Prince of Wales Pub, Parchmore Road & The scouts hut on Beulah Road. Now we have moved into our final destination of Norbury Park Pavilion, off Green Lane.
We run a full schedule of classes open to all in our first class boxing facility. Whether it's keeping fit or competing, we cater for all who wish to work hard in a friendly environment.
Our club ethos is 'everyone is welcome'! We cater to competitive boxers, beginners, keep-fitters and those who just want to be part of a team. We also run referral sessions for children at risk, and those involved in the youth justice system.
We run two sessions a week for the amateur squad as per timetable. In the past we have had ABA junior national champions and ABA regional senior champions. We have a growing squad that are readily competing with the biggest clubs in the country. These sessions are open to Male & Female.
There is a one off yearly membership for Amateur Boxing Sessions of £20 a year.
We run a ladies only boxing boot camp class every Sunday. This is a non-contact boxing fitness session which will give you all the skills and fitness needed to get the feel of being a boxer, without having to compete. Get down the gym, work hard and then enjoy that slice of cake after dinner with no guilt at all!
We run this session once a week for those that wish to learn how to box and not get thrown in the deep end. All you need to bring is suitable clothing and water to keep hydrated. We do suggest buying your own equipment, however we do have equipment to borrow at the gym and also equipment to sell.
Having witnessed first hand the effects of gang crime, Adam realised that something more needed to be done within the community for those most at risk. Every last Friday of the month, we have a free drop-in session where those affected by gang crime can come and train in an informal environment for free - away from the stress of the streets. This is a free session for everyone in the community.
